Do you do underage functions?

No, we do not. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist due to licensing restrictions at our venue.

Do you have a room hire fee?

There is not a room hire fee for any of our spaces, instead, there is a minimum food and beverage spend which includes money spent by guests on the night, all of which are outlined in the function package.

Can I play a slideshow for my event?

Yes, we have TVs in all our function spaces (except outdoor spaces) which can be used for slideshows. If you choose either The Jackson Bar or The Wine Bar for your function, we have capabilities to plug a USB in and/or a laptop via HDMI cable directly into the TV. We also have speakers to connect your music through, or we can just play music through Spotify, no extra costs.

Can I organise decorations, DJs or Photo booths through you guys?

Any decorations, DJ hire, photo booth etc. can be organised by yourself or through us. If we organise it we will pass the cost onto you but you will receive the quote to approve before anything is booked. 

What food options are available?

For a sit-down lunch, we can do ala carte service of the full menu for you and your guests, you can select one of our set menus or we can tailor a set menu to your needs.

For a more relaxed lunch, you can choose from the finger food and pizza slabs that you will find on our current canape menu and combine them with some of the tapas style items from the ala carte menu. However, we are happy to work outside of this list to cater to any special requests or dietary requirements. Call us on 9744 1310 to discuss

Is there a smoking area that my guests will be able to use?

Currently, we have one smoking area, easily accessible from the Jackson Bar or events in the Wine Bar can smoke out the front. 

What are the drink prices?

Jackson Bar (including beer gardens)

Tap beers/ ciders - are $5.50/pot ($5.30 for mid-strength) and are a range of local beers including VB, Carlton Draught, GReat Northern, Carlton Dry etc. 

Wines start from - $7.00/glass up 

Basic Spirits - $8.00/shot 

In the Wine Bar (including the beer garden)

Tap beers/ciders start from - $6.00/pot and there is a range of local and international beer including Witbeir, Pale, Red Ale, Porter, Steam Ale and Asahi as well as Carlton Draught.

Wines start from - $8.50/glass 

Basic spirits - $9.00/shot 

Can we bring our own food or a cake?

We are happy for you to bring a cake (i.e. birthday cake, wedding cake) and cupcakes. If you do ask for us to cut and serve your cake on plates with cutlery, we do charge a $30 cakeage fee.  Otherwise, you can cut it up yourselves, and bring your own plates and cutlery. No other food can be brought in, definitely not hot food.

Can we decorate the room?

Yes, decorations are allowed, but we do ask that only blu-tack is to be used if hanging anything on our walls, and balloons are weighed down (if possible) to avoid blocking our security cameras. We can provide either white/black linen table cloths at request, with a $20 charge.

Provided there are no functions in the afternoon, you can access the room from 3pm to start setting up.

Do you provide a microphone?

No, we do not have a microphone 

Where can I have my function?

We have multiple spaces/rooms that you can host your function in. Have a look at our function package which outlines the different spaces in more detail and photos of rooms, it also includes our current finger food menu and booking form. If you have any questions feel free to contact the Ball Court Hotel on 9744 1310 or to discuss and check availability.

Can I come and have a look at the function rooms?

Yes, feel free to give us a call on 9744 1310 to book in a time for us to show you all the different spaces to get a feel for which would work best for your event and to answer any questions you may have.

Can we set up our own grazing table?

Unfortunately, we do not allow guests to supply their own grazing tables as it is a food safety concern, however, if you are interested we can definitely do one for you, just give your price point or we have charcuterie boards on the finger food list that you can order.

Do we need secuirity?

If your function exceeds more than 60 guests you are required to pay for your own security guard for your event, we organise that for you for a $180 fee on top of the minimum spend.

When does my food order need to be in by?

We need the food order to be placed no later than 2 weeks prior to the event and paid in full 1 week prior.

Setting up a Bar Tab?

The bar tab can be paid before or at the start of the event and topped up if you want to on the night along the way. Staff will come see you when you are close to the end of your bar tab and you can choose to cut it off or top it up.

How do I confirm my function?

To confirm your booking please fill out and return the booking form and pay a $200 deposit. This can be paid in cash at the venue or via credit card if you fill out the credit card authorisation form found in the function package and send it through to
